This workshop is for people who want more control over their living space—whether it is a flat, house, or studio—without sending their data to external clouds. It suits curious beginners, makers, and tech‑savvy users with basic computer skills; no Linux or programming experience is required, while more advanced participants can use the time to explore add‑ons and deeper integrations.

What is included?

You leave the workshop with a complete, ready‑to‑run Home Assistant server and all the core hardware (value ~€200+) you need to start automating your home.

  1. Raspberry Pi 5 single‑board computer with sufficient RAM for a long‑term Home Assistant installation.

  2. Official power supply and high‑quality storage (pre‑flashed with Home Assistant OS), so your system is stable and ready to boot at home.

  3. Robust case and cooling solution to protect your Pi and keep it reliable in 24/7 operation.

  4. Multi‑protocol USB adapter for smart home radios (e.g. Zigbee/Matter, depending on the final kit) to connect a wide range of devices locally.

  5. Necessary cables and small accessories to connect and install everything without additional purchases.

On top of the hardware, the price includes guided setup time in the Intronos Innovation Hub, so you go home with a fully configured system you understand and can extend yourself.

When does it start?

The workshop runs on Tuesday, 27 January 2026, from 18:30 to 22:00.

Doors open at 18:00 so you can arrive early, grab a seat, and get your hardware kit before we start the hands-on part around 18:45.

How long does it take?

Plan for about 2–4 hours on site, depending on your pace and questions. The format is guided but flexible, so everyone leaves with a working system—even if it takes a bit longer for troubleshooting or extra integrations.

What do I need to bring?

Bring a laptop with a modern web browser and the ability to connect to WiFi, plus access to your home router credentials if you want to mirror your home setup. If you already own smart bulbs, plugs, or sensors (WiFi, Zigbee, Bluetooth, or Matter), you are welcome to bring one or two along so we can try integrating them during the workshop.

Where is it?

The workshop takes place at Intronos Innovation Hub, conveniently located roughly in the middle between Nicosia, Larnaca, and Limassol, making it reachable by car from all three cities in about 30–40 minutes.
